The role of the director is to get the right performance out of the actors, and in the FilmSkills Finding and Directing Actors Class, we give you the tools to help students get a convincing, emotionally rich performance from even the most difficult or inexperienced actor.
Students will learn the language of acting and techniques for communicating with actors, the step-by step process for conducting powerful rehearsals, techniques from network television directors on how to analyze characters in the script, common directing mistakes and how to avoid them, how to work with actors on set from the moment before calling action to the moment after calling cut, and how to direct extras to craft a convincing and believable environment.
The contributors to this class are Emmy and Academy-Award-winning filmmakers who reveal the techniques they’ve learned throughout their careers.
