Media Arts Instructor Palmdale, CA

With a Bachelors in Cinema & Television Arts and over twelve years of experience in video production, film, creative writing, and graphic design, I feel I can be a beneficial asset to young scholars. To quickly sum up who I am, I'd say, "creative storyteller." I love telling stories—it's my passion. I've written books, with six currently published. I write screenplays, one sold, and four have won awards. I make films, and one has won an award. I challenge myself daily, work well under deadlines, and see video editing, special effects, writing, and graphic design all as tools to tell a story, make it engaging, and to make it innovative.

After working 8 years in broadcast journalism, I’ve moved my career toward education. I now work in the marketing department of Learn4Life Concept Charter Schools which is an umbrella over 90+ charters throughout California. Here, I’ve been at work telling the stories of our wide at-risk youth population and how through education, they are turning tragedy into triumph. It’s an honor to work with these students, help them find a voice and tell their stories, and be a positive influence in their lives.

Because of my work, I’ve been invited to speak at many functions, including classrooms. I also volunteer at a summer camp where I have taught kids, ages 13-18, video production, engaging them in a cooperative learning process. Through manipulative, hands-on team teaching, our class produced a 15 minute production that served both as a highlight reel of the camp and as an advertisement to share online or at fundraising functions.  I have come to learn that teaching what I am passionate about. I hope to work diligently to equip my students to be college and career ready.
